Lyme disease is an illness caused by a spirochete (an organism more closely related to a parasite than a bacteria). The spirochete is found in the tick known as the deer tick. These ticks are found on deer and on other small mammals. People do not actually get Lyme disease from these animals. The ticks jump off of their hosts and end up on bushes and grasses near by.  If a person walks by these grasses and bushes, the ticks can end up on the person. They then can bite them, infecting them with one or more various types of Lyme disease. Lyme disease is found in many parts of this country. The 14 states with the most confirmed cases were found in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin. Lyme Disease

How is Lyme disease diagnosed?

Diagnosis relies on a review of physical symptoms, as well as the likelihood of recent exposure to the ticks. Lab tests may be used to confirm a diagnosis, but in many cases they may provide inaccurate results. By utilizing applied kinesiology testing protocols, many cases of Lyme are able to be diagnosed. Utilizing standard diagnosis, symptoms, exposure and applied kinesiology, ensures a more complete diagnosis of Lyme.

Symptoms of Lyme Disease

There are many different symptoms associated with Lyme disease. Depending whether you are in the early stages or have had Lyme for several years impacts the amount and severity of a Lyme symptom. Most people with Lyme disease complain of extreme fatigue. They often sleep more than eight hours a night and take naps during the day.  Many Lyme patients also complain about memory problems,  trouble focusing, depression, anxiety, emotional upheavals, and personality changes.  They also may have joint pain and swelling, especially in the shoulders, elbows and wrists. Some patients have debilitating headaches and often describe the feeling of an electric current running through their legs and arms.  Flu like symptoms are also seen in many patients, as well as swollen lymph nodes in the neck. In more serious cases hepatitis ((inflammation of the liver), eye inflammation and swelling and even Bell's Palsy( muscle paralysis in the face) have occurred. These symptoms are not found in most Lyme patients.

As with all symptoms many Lyme symptoms can be found in many other illness' and health conditions. Many of the above symptoms are found in Candida, heavy metal accumulation, parasite infections, bacterial infections, exposure to heavy chemicals and inhalants etc. That is why proper diagnosis and treatment is very important.
