I am often asked as a practicing Holistic Chiropractor and Applied Kinesiologist, what exactly is Applied Kinesiology? People often think it is just muscle testing, but in fact is much more complex and much more involved than that. Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis.

The combined terms “applied” and “kinesiology” describe the basis of this system, which is the use of manual muscle testing to evaluate body function through the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system.

The Triad of Health lists three causes of health problems. They are structural, chemical and mental, with structure as the base of the triad. AK enables me to evaluate the triad’s functional balance and direct therapy toward the unbalanced side or sides. By using and understanding the Triad of Health, I am able to evaluate every patient on all three sides. This increases my ability to find the basic underlying causes of my patients health problem.

Knowing how to use manual muscle testing and interpret the findings accurately is not an easy accomplishment. It took me years and years of practice to become the best and most proficient AK doctor I could possibly be.

Applied Kinesiology is an amazing way to evaluate what is going on in your body and help rebalance the Triad of Health.
