The 2021 allergy season has been extremely brutal. Before I go into explaining this occurrence, let's take a look back at the 2020 allergy season.

When COVID hit in 2020 people's lives changed drastically. Most people spent considerable amounts of time indoors and when outside masks were worn by the majority. More people worked from home and there were fewer cars on the road, thus reducing air pollution. Experts have stated that last year was an unusual interruption because actually pollen counts have been increasing for many years.

A study done by the University of Wisconsin stated that in reality, allergy season has been getting longer and stronger for the past 30 years.  Let's now go to 2021. Many people have stated that in fact, their allergy symptoms are very severe this year.  A small part of this is because more people are going outside without masks (masks actually help protect you against the pollen).

The larger reason why so many people are suffering from allergies is due to climate change. This has caused longer pollen seasons, higher levels of pollen, and warmer temperatures. Since climate change will not be a quick fix, there are many choices a person can make when it comes to dealing with their allergies. Wearing masks outside, taking over-the-counter allergy medications, taking prescriptions medications, and getting allergy shots.  All of these will help with your allergy symptoms, but they won't help boost up your immune system so you become less allergy-sensitive.

My approach to helping my patients get well has always included boosting up their immune systems. Most of my patients have not seen an increase this year in their allergy symptoms. Many have stated that they can't believe how mild their allergy symptoms are when compared to many people they know suffering from such severe symptoms this year in particular.

My approach to helping my patients improve their health (which includes boosting their immune system), has always been by utilizing the Applied Kinesiology method of looking at the whole body structurally, chemically, and at the level of the brain itself. By understanding how the whole body works and being able to non-invasively correct the imbalances on all three sides of what I call "The Triad of Health," my patients improve their health, have significantly fewer allergies, and enjoy a greater quality of life.
